WATCH: Couple get engaged on West Cork Cliff after the ring is delivered by a drone
Niall Duffy of West Cork Photos captured the moment for Blue and Maria when he piloted his drone above the edge of a cliff outside Allihies on The Wild Atlantic Way.
Blue Cassidy from Cork had convinced his girlfriend Maria Gilvanda that they would be helping out photographer friend Niall by 'starring' in a tourism promotional video for the Beara Peninsula.
The couple sat down on a picnic blanket and popped open a bottle of champagne while Niall the professional photographer and drone operator maneuvered his camera and sock on a fishing line-equipped drone into the air and over to Blue so he could propose to partner Maria. The drone landed on the headland and Blue got down on one knee to propose to her with the ring he received from the drone.
She said “Yes” and the result of the video has now been shared hundreds of thousands of times across social media.
