Netflix reveals new lead for season two of Bridgerton

A new female lead has been revealed for the second season of the popular Netflix series.
Simone Ashley has been chosen as the new female lead to star opposite Jonathan Bailey. Simone Ashley is best known for her role as Olivia in Sex Education.
She will play Kate Sharma ‘’ a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fouls’’ according to Netflix. The second season will be a pursuit to find a suitable marriage for the eldest Bridgerton sibling Anthony Bailey. Ashley will play romantic interest, Kate Sharma.
Season one of Bridgerton became Netflix’s biggest ever original series viewed by over 82 million households in just 28 days after its release on Christmas day 2020. Netflix expects the same success for Season 2.
