Cork Singer In Shock As Song Is Used On Love Island
One Cork singer songwriter was left in disbelief as their song played on Love Island!
LYRA, from Rochestown, was in her flat in London watching the popular ITV2 show when her song started to play over a dramatic scene.
The 26-year-old tweeted her excitement at hearing her song Falling being used on the show which had a peak viewership of 4.2 million viewers for this year's opening episode.
Sitting in my own villa (flat) last night + Falling came on! Yes I kept rewinding + repeating it but I can confirm I was sat there in my bikini (dressing gown), next to a hot man (my dog) with a Pina Colada (Barry's Tea) whilst doing so 😉🌴🍹 @LoveIsland https://t.co/yOwRtkXzTB pic.twitter.com/b9tWWN4D9J

LYRA's song was in good company on the show with other music picks featuring Camila Cabello, Lizzo, Panic! At The Disco, Sigala and Nicole Scherzinger to name a few.
It's not the first time LYRA's music has been used on television with her song Emerald featuring on the hit RTE drama Striking Out starring Amy Huberman. Her songs have also featured on Teen Wolf, The Royals, The X Factor and Made In Chelsea.
