The average wait for a driving test has fallen to under 10 weeks, according to Parc Road Safety Group.
Figures show the average learner driver is waiting 9.6 weeks to sit their test.
However the number of no-shows is on the rise, with 699 recorded in June this year, according to the organisation.
In Cork, Wilton has the second highest wait time in the country at 16 weeks, while learner drivers in Mallow wait 13 weeks and Skibbereen 8.
The Road Safety Authority is due to publish official wait times at the end of the week.
