Taoiseach - "vaccination centres provide significant light at the end of the tunnel"

The Taoiseach says the new vaccination centres provide a significant light at the end of the tunnel in the fight against Covid 19.

Micheál Martin has been defending the locations of the 37 new centres which are to be rolled out nationwide.

There has been some criticism of the centres with complaints that some people will have to travel too far to them.

The 5 centres in Cork will be located at City Hall, Pairc Ui Chaoimh, MTU Campus, Bantry PCC, and Mallow GAA Club.

Speaking on his way into Cabinet, Micheál Martin said the centres are needed to ramp up the rollout of the vaccine.

"Progress is being made on that front, the only issue for us now is to get a sufficiency of supply in to allow us to be able to administer vaccines.

"Without question that provides significant light at the end of the tunnel for us."
