Leo Varadkar says the message from the government on easing restrictions next week will be a hopeful one

But he has warned the country is not out of the woods and there is a real risk of a fourth wave of COVID before the summer.

A decision on what restrictions can be lifted from April 5th will be made next Tuesday by the cabinet before an address to the nation.

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar says there is still a difficult path ahead: "The message on Tuesday will be a message of hope, because I am hopeful and government is hopeful. We have vaccines now, and the vaccines work. And we know that they are going to allow us to live with this virus in the future in a way that we have not been able to, in the year gone by."
