Infectious disease specialist says it's too early to make a decision on delaying Phase Four

An infectious diseases specialist says it's too early to say whether the opening of pubs on Monday should be delayed.

Cabinet Ministers are meeting this evening to consider moving to phase four of the easing of coronavirus restrictions.

But there are concerns due to the number of Covid-19 cases in young people, and the increase in the reproduction rate.

Professor Sam McConkey, infectious disease specialist with the RCSI says the 'R number' is a concern, but it's too early to make a decision on the delay of Phase 4:
