ICCL: Tomorrow's Lockdown Rally In Cork Should Not Go Ahead As Planned

The rally is due to begin outside Brown Thomas on Patrick's St. at 2pm

However, the organisation says the government should issue clear guidance on how people could legitimately protest under Level 5 restrictions.

Lord Mayor Cllr Joe Kavanagh has called for the event to be cancelled altogether, saying it's likely to create a large gathering of people in Cork City Centre.

Organisers insist the demonstration will not cause disruption to the city, amid concerns of a repeat of the violent scenes at a protest in Dublin last weekend.
