Head Of Vaccine Taskforce Says Potential For Kids As Young As 12 To Receive Vaccine Is Interesting Development

Pfizer has submitted a request to the EMA to approve its use in 12-15 year old's

Brian MacCraith says it could be an important milestone for the country's vaccine programme:

"The announcement by Pfizer yesterday that they had submitted clinical trial data to the EMA for consideration based on their clinical trials for those aged 12 to 15, is a very interesting development. If that extended the conditional marketing authorization, it would provide an interesting opportunity for policymakers in Ireland to extend the programme, right down to those aged 12. That's an issue for government, it's an issue for the Minister of Health ultimately."
