Here are the Covid headlines from across the day

The Chief Medical Officer says there are currently no plans to introduce a local lockdown in Limerick - but it can't be ruled out.

The county has the highest rate of Covid-19 nationally - with over 740 cases recorded there over the last two weeks.


NPHET has reported a further 407 cases today - while there are 93 patients with the virus in hospital and 34 in ICU.


The number of cases of the Delta variant, first identified in India, has increased to 115.

That's up from 97 last Friday


People aged 44 can register for a Covid-19 vaccine from today.

43-year-olds can register tomorrow and those a year younger on subsequent days, with appointments set to start in two weeks.
