Here's a reminder of today's Covid headlines

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 4 additional deaths related to COVID-19 and 425 new cases.

Of the deaths notified today 1 occurred in January, 1 occurred in February and 2 occurred in May.

CMO expects to make recommendation shortly around use of Johnson & Johnson covid vaccine.

Dr Tony Holohan says he will soon give guidance on this to the health minister. The jab is currently limited to the over 50s due to fears of rare blood clots.

Around €50 million loss to economy due to cancellation of National Ploughing Championships.

Organisers made the announcement today that the trade exhibition due to take place in Co. Laois in September won't go ahead but the national competitions will.

Public Health England Revealed 4 People Have Died With Indian Coronavirus Variant In UK.

There are reports UK government scientists want to extend the vaccine rollout - to all adults - in areas that are having problems with the mutation.
