Covid-19 Evening Update

Here's a reminder of today's Covid headlines

400 people have contracted Covid-19 in the Republic, and 7 infected patients are confirmed to have died.

There were 162 in Dublin, 61 in Kildare, 26 in Cork, 21 in Galway, and 17 in Donegal.

Two new walk-in Covid test centres will open in the city this weekend.

The two facilities at UCC and MTU follow concerns about student outbreaks.

The head of the HSE says it could be into early May before a quarter of a million Covid vaccines are being administered every week.

It's seen as a key target to ensure the government meets the aim of offering 80 per cent of adults a jab by the end of June.

Today, the millionth dose of a coronavirus vaccine was administered here - with up to 190 thousand due to be given out next week.
