CMO Doesn't See Why Schools Shouldn't Re-Open As Planned After The Mid-Term Break

Teachers unions have raised their concerns around safety issues in the wake of Covid 19 however public health chiefs say they do not expect to ask the Government to keep schools closed after mid term 

Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan says, based on current evidence, it is envisioned that schools will reopen as planned 
At the NPHET briefing he also cautioned parents about the risks of children from different families getting together for Halloween parties 

720 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed yesterday with 130 of those cases here in Cork 

The latest data shows the positivity rate for tests carried out in schools is much lower than the wider community.
