Redevelopment Of CinemaWorld Douglas Site Will Lead To A Boost For The Local Economy
A new Aldi store will be built on the site which the retailer says will create 20 new permanent jobs and up to 60 construction jobs.
The managing director of Gate Cinemas announced today that the screens in Douglas will shut on October 10th due to increased competition and declining sales.
Construction of the Aldi store will begin in January next year, with plans to open in quarter four 2020.
Speaking to RedFM News, Brendan Flannery from Gate Cinemas says the new Aldi store will lead to increased trade and jobs in the area:
