Met Eireann Lifts Orange Weather Alert In Cork

Storm Ciara has impacted flights to and from Cork Airport and led to power outages

The Orange Weather Alert across Cork has been downgraded to a Status Yellow warning however the impact of Storm Ciara is still being felt on the arrival and departure of flights to London Heathrow 

Four flights to and from London Heathrow to Cork Airport have been cancelled while the Ryanair flight from Alicante into Cork which was due at 12.50 has been delayed until approximately 3.50pm

Earlier high winds led to the suspension of the cross river ferry between Glenbrook and Carrigaloe, however normal service has now resumed.

Almost 2,500 thousand ESB customers in Cork are without power across this afternoon, as Storm Ciara tracks away 

2,300 homes and business across Cobh, Kilmoney, Castleview, Whitechurch, Macroom, Lee Bridge, and Dunmanway are experiencing blackouts this lunchtime.

Nationally, over 17,000 homes and businesses are without power
