Council engineers to inspect Knocknaheeny site after part of a house under construction collapsed
A section of wall, scaffolding and part of a roof collapsed onto neighbouring properties in Dunmore Gardens yesterday due to high winds.
Gardaí and the Fire Service attended the scene, however no one was injured in the collapse.
Cork TD Thomas Gould says residents had previously raised concerns about how close the development is to their homes.
He told RedFM News that the incident could have had a much more serious outcome:
"Residents were very angry, because they had been highlighting concerns about the closeness of the development to their homes and believe that it was only luck that a tragedy didn't happen."
