New figures show people on probation, following a criminal conviction, earn 30 per cent less than workers who are not out on probation.
The CSO says probationers' median weekly earnings were 406 euro in 2018, one year after receiving probation supervision, compared to 554 euro for all employees.
Those working in the construction sector had the highest median earnings of 606 euro a week.
Data from 2020 shows that overall, women on probation had lower incomes of 309 euro, compared to a weekly median of 484 euro for men.
