Those heading to the National Ploughing Championships this week are being advised to expect significant traffic delays.
300,000 people will descend on Ratheniska in Co Laois, for the three-day event which returns today for the first time since 2019.
Event organisers are urging drivers to turn off their sat-navs, and to see the Garda Traffic Plan online for the best route.
Deputy Managing Director of the National Ploughing Championships, Anna Marie McHugh, says people should leave plenty of time to get there.
"Allow for not your usual traffic time, you should allow for at least double the time to get to the event.
"Turn off your sat nav, turn off your Google Maps, because you really need to follow the traffic plan. It's on their website, and there's a link to an app that the Gardai have.
"If it all possible when you're coming along in the car if one of the passengers can buy the tickets online it will mean you get into the event quicker."
