Wait times at Dublin Airport are stable this morning after the Dublin Airport Authority adopted contingency plans to deal with the bank holiday rush.

50 thousand people are expected to fly out of the capital today.

Michael Dooley reports for RedFM News from Terminal 1:

"Between the 6am and 7am peak, a total of 36 flights departed Dublin - 19 from Terminal 1 and 17 from Terminal 2.

At T1, there are longer queues than yesterday at security but nothing to write home about - everything's moving quickly.

At baggage check in, Air France and Air Canada have particularly long queues, but funnily enough, the Ryanair kiosks are completely free of traffic, just like yesterday.

Images on social media this morning from between 4 and 5am showed queues overflowed to the marquee the Dublin Airport Authority has erected outside Terminal 1 - there were even hundreds of passengers in the fast track queue.

Unlike yesterday, when DAA contingency measures kept queues as low as ten minutes at security in T1, there were hundreds waiting in security lines at peak times this morning.

Terminal 2 hasn't been the same story - a member of security told me it's been a "ghost town" since around 5, and even then queues at baggage check in and security were moving swiftly."
