Unicef says the aftermath of an earthquake in Afghanistan is 'a serious humanitarian situation'.
More than a thousand people have been killed in the quake.
Aftershocks on Friday killed at least 5 more people 160 kilometres southeast of Kabul.
Unicef Chief Executive, Peter Power is appealing for aid to help people in the country:
"The authorities in Afghanistan, UNICEF and other agencies we are appealing for international aid. This is a serious humanitarian situation. We've got some aid in at this stage, but it looks as if this is going to last for a number of weeks to try and assist those many thousands of people who are now displaced who've lost their homes."
