Ulster Bank is reminding people to close their accounts and switch providers.
The bank is currently writing to current and deposit account customers to let them on a phased basis over the next six months, although staff are encouraging people to begin the process as soon as possible.
Those in need of additional support can call the dedicated customer phone line 1800 656 001 open 8am-8pm, 7 days a week.
Ulster bank would also like to remind people that they will never ask for passcodes or online banking details and to be aware of scammers and fraudsters who might try to take advantage of the situation.
