Transparency International Ireland has welcomed the signing into law of the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act.
It says the new legislation will strengthen existing whistleblowing safeguards in some areas, and extend whistleblowing protections to volunteers and shareholders.
It says it'll also impose new obligations on private sector and charity employers with more than 50 staff.
