Too little has been done to build understanding and cooperation between the North and the Republic since the Good Friday Agreement.
That's according to the Taoiseach, who will address a commemoration event for Sean Lemass this afternoon.
Micheál Martin describes him as one of the great figures of our history.
In honour of Lemass' legacy, he says everyone must be prepared to change to achieve a united Ireland.
