Three teenagers have been arrested in relation to an assault on a teenage boy in Navan in Co. Meath on Monday.
The 14 year old suffered serious facial injuries in the attack and was treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
Gardaí, who say they're treating it as a hate crime, arrested three teenage boys in the Navan area this morning and they're being held at Garda Stations across the Meath region.
Education Minister Norma Foley has described the incident as "shocking":
"What has happened in the last number of days is horrific. It is unacceptable. It should never happen. It is not a reflection of all the wonderful young people who attend our schools nor is it a reflection of of an individual school, because we are a constituent of many parts".
