Cork Chamber say it's not yet clear whether the €1.2 billion package of supports announced in yesterday's Budget will be enough to support businesses through the winter.

The group made the comments after the Finance Minister Paschal Donohue and Minister for Public Expenditure Michael McGrath commended Bugdet 2023 to the Dáil.

Chamber has welcomed the scale of the budget at a time of an unprecedented energy and inflation crisis but has cautioned that more supports may be needed.

A mother charged with the murder of two of her children in Co Westmeath is due to appear at Athlone District Court court via video link today.

Lynn Egar, of Winetown, Rathowen, is accused of the murders of five-year-old Thelma and two-year-old Michael Dennany at Lackan, Multyfarnham.

They died in a car fire on September 9th.

All four occupied regions of Ukraine have voted to join Russia after so-called "sham referendums".

The results appear to show support ranging from 87-per cent to 99-per cent in the areas.

The UN Security Council will meet later to discuss a resolution that says the results will never be accepted.
