Ukraine's President hass given a damning assessment of the United Nations - claiming it's being discredited by Russia and 'isn't functioning' as it should.

He says "the UN Security Council exists, and security in the world does not."

The Central Bank has significantly scaled back its predictions for Ireland's economy, due to the Ukraine war.

It says the domestic economy will grow by 4.8% this year - compared to a prediction of over 7% in January.

The bank says the war has reduced household incomes, and led to higher costs for businesses.

TDs and Senators from Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil will debate opposing motions on the carbon tax this evening.

The Fine Gael Parliamentary Party members will be asked to pass a motion calling for a delay to next month's increase until the war in Ukraine's over.

While the Fianna Fáil PP will be asked to reaffirm support for the carbon tax increases as a way of ringfencing funding for climate projects.
