Survivors and former residents of Ireland's Mother and Baby Homes will gather in Galway today, in an effort to raise awareness of the continued injustices.

The ‘Still Seeking Justice’ event will look at a variety of subjects, including art exhibitions and personal essays and lectures by survivors of the Tuam institution.

The Redress Bill is currently going through the Seanad and is expected to pass in the coming months.

The State is set to pay a financial contribution of €1.5m for failing to accommodate asylum seekers.

It was agreed the Government would house 350 refugees under the EU's voluntary solidarity mechanism.

However, with more than 80,000 refugees and asylum seekers currently here, the State has fallen short.

Ministers are set to approve the payment at a Cabinet meeting later this morning.

Late night opening by pharmacists is under threat.

The Irish Pharmacy Union says a number of pharmacies are ending their late night services and cutting back on weekend hours due to financial pressures

The Irish Examiner report that the Phelan’s Pharmacy chain are among those ending their late night service.

Former US Vice President Al Gore is to speak to remotely at a conference in Cork today.

Mr Gore will provide an online address to the World Ocean Day Conference in City Hall, to address the environmental coalition Fair Seas.

The Conference will also hear from keynote speaker, ocean economist Professor Rashid Sumaila of the University of British Column, and Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform, Malcom Noonan.
