  • Cork Airport are asking people to arrive at the airport up to two hours before they are due to board this weekend. Over 43,000 passengers are due to pass through the terminal over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
  • The Government's proposed 'Mother and Baby Institutions Payment Scheme Bill' needs to be completely overhauled - to make it fit for purpose. That's according to West Cork TD Holly Cairns who claimed in the Dáil this week that it's "difficult to catalogue" all of the bills flaws.
  • A Cork TD says that we need a punitive tax to punish landlords who are leaving their properties vacant and derelict. While, Gerard Turley of the University of Galway says the government's proposal will be three times the local property tax liability which, he says "for the majority of properties... will result in a levy of 0.3%".
  • The City and surrounds are in for a multi-million euro boost this weekend as thousands of revellers take to venues across Cork for the Jazz Festival. It's the first festival without restrictions since the outbreak of Covid and gigs will be taking place at outdoor and indoor venues across the city.
