Debate around transgender competitors in sport, should be viewed by how society treats transgender people generally.

That's according to the Transgender Equality Network, which was responding to Olympian Sonia O'Sullivan's comments that 'without a doubt' they have an unfair advantage in sport.

Sarah Philips from TENI says it's usually discussed after one particular moment and not when other issues come into play:

"People who have been brought up with much more support, around financial support, for instance, and have that opportunity to be trained better, to have facilities, correct facilities, always have that advantage over those who don't. And I think we have to, kind of, unpack what are we actually talking about here. And I think again goes back to this moral panic around trans-people and specifically trans-women."
