The Taoiseach says he wants to do more to support the survivors of the Thalidomide scandal.
The morning sickness medication was withdrawn from global markets in 1961 after causing birth defects - but continued to be used in Ireland for a further nine months.
Leo Varadkar says an independent engagement process is being set up, to explore how the State could support those affected.
But he says any apology should come from the drug's manufacturers.
