Sweltering Heat For Many Parts Of Country From Sunday

Sweltering heat is on the way for many parts of the country from Sunday, and Met Éireann has issued a status yellow high temperature warning.

The Department of Agriculture has also issued a Status Orange Forest Fire Warning.

The midlands look set to experience the highest temperatures of up to 28 degrees Celsius on Sunday, along with Clare, Limerick, and Tipperary.

In Dublin, Temperatures are expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius for the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final in Croke Park.

On Monday, temperatures will rise even further and could exceed 30 degrees Celsius in Meath and Louth, while Kildare Dublin and Offaly will reach 29 to 30 degrees.

The night time temperature will also be very warm and humid.

Temperatures on Sunday and Monday night are not likely to fall below the mid to high teens and in some areas they may not fall below 20 degrees Celsius, which is known as a Tropical night.
