The Health Minister says he wants to stay on in the role after any cabinet reshuffle at the end of the year.
It's expected to happen in December, and Stephen Donnelly could be in the firing line.
However, he says he wants to continue in the job:
"What I'm doing right now is I'm focusing on the job at hand. It would be no secret, it was a greatest professional honour in my life to be appointed as as health minister and of course, I think there's really important work to be done. We are building momentum so of course I would love to continue with that and get these waiting lists down."
