A status orange weather warning for thunderstorms is in effect for the whole country until tomorrow.
Met Eireann expects widespread but very sporadic thunder and lightning until Monday morning for most and afternoon for South Leinster and Munster.
That's accompanied by heavy downpours leading to spot flooding in places and also a high temperature warning for most of the country.
Met Eireann forecaster Andrew Doran Sherlock says not everywhere will get hit by a thunderstorm:
"We're expecting quite widespread and severe thunderstorm activity now, because under storm developments, they're quite sporadic in nature. So not every area is going to be affected. But all areas are at risk. There could be some quite heavy downpours on Sunday and some falls of hail as well. So there could also be flooding and in the cloud exposure because thunderstorms will be quite slow moving."
