The Status Orange forest fire warning, currently in place, has been extended.
The Department of Agriculture says the risk of outdoor fire remains high, with lots of dry vegetation at present.
The advisory, which was due to end today, will now remain in place until 6 o'clock on Tuesday evening.
Pat Neville from Coillte has this advice:
"This is the second highest level of forest fire warning that we have. It means that even a very small fire in the outdoors can get out of control very quickly and cause tremendous damage. Coillte are asking the public not to light any fires in the outdoors at all, for the duration of the weather warning and to be extremely vigilant. If you see a forest fire, never approached them. They're extremely dangerous. Call the emergency services".
