The Sports Minister says it would not be appropriate for her to engage with either the GAA or RTÉ over the GAA GO controversy, saying it was a commercial decision.

The streaming platform was launched as a joint venture by RTÉ and the GAA in 2014 and was primarily targeted at overseas markets.

This year there are 38 championship games being broadcast exclusively on the service, while 31 are being shown free to air on RTÉ.

Minister Catherine Martin says she welcomes the GAA's commitment to review the streaming service at the end of the season:

"We all want to see as many matches as possible. There is a great love for the sport, but it's not really, as the Taoiseach said earlier in the week, possible to see all the matches. But I am glad that they're going to do a review at the end of the season".
