The Social Protection Minister has confirmed Wexford woman Tracy McGinnis won't have to repay money demanded by the state after her son's death.
Brendan Bjorn, who was receiving disability payments, passed away on the 17th of last month.
Following this, the Department of Social Protection sent a letter to his mother Tracy asking for one of those payments back.
Minister Humphreys has apologised to Tracy and says the letter was completely inappropriate:
"Well as far as I'm concerned, this is about common sense, and compassion, and no, she won't have to repay the money".
