Auto enrolment pensions WILL be introduced next year, according to the Social Protection Minister.
The move will see some three quarters of a million people without a pension entered into a scheme.
Employers and the State will also contribute towards the pension pot.
Amid some doubt over the implementation debate, Minister Heather Humphreys says as far as she's concerned things are on track:
"I've had consultations with a number of different stakeholders only last week. My plan is that we will push on with this. And I know some people might say you should change this or you should change that. As far as I'm concerned, the auto-enrolment train is on the tracks, it's moving off, and I want to make sure that we deliver auto-enrolment in 2024".
