Gardai have sealed off an area of open ground in North Dublin in the case of a missing child who is feared dead.
The young boy, who would be 7, hasn’t been seen for several years.
Gardai have sealed off a large area of open ground here on the Portrane Road in Donabate this morning as part of the search for the missing boy who they fear is dead.
Detectives, crime scene officers and local gardai are on site. Spotlights have been set up, and black sheeting put up around it on a fence . The case of the missing boy was referred to gardai last Friday by Tusla. The boy - who would now be 7 – lived at the Gallery Apartments in Donabate – and its believed he was last seen a number of years ago when he was 3.
Gardai say they are not in a position to identify the boy at this time and are keeping an open mind into what happened.
No arrests have been made and gardai in Swords are investigating. Questions have been raised about how a young boy can be missing with nobody in authority realising it – and comes just a year after the similar but separate case of Louth schoolboy Kyran Durnin who is also missing presumed dead
