A Seanad Bill's been blocked that would ensure no person would have to declare a cancer diagnosis to a financial institution.
The Irish Cancer Society says cancer survivors have been penalised for having cancer many years previously when it comes to accessing insurance.
New legislation would prevent this from happening but the Business Post reports Insurance Ireland has tried to delay the planned law.
