The national broadcaster has today published the fees earned by its top ten earning presenters in 2020 and 2021.

Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy took home €440,000 in 2021.

That's down almost €30,000 on 2020, and down €55,000 on 2019's figures, however he remains firmly at the top of the table.

The top three is made up by fellow Radio One hosts Joe Duffy and Claire Byrne, earning €351,000 and €350,000 respectively - while Ray D'Arcy and Miriam O'Callaghan are fourth and fifth.

Director-General Dee Forbes says RTÉ reduced the total fees paid to its highest-earning presenters by more than 15% in both 2020 and 2021 - and the fees have dropped by about 40% over the last 15 years.

She says she's aware the fees "attract considerable public interest", but that RTÉ's presenters play an important role in the provision of "vital news, information and entertainment".
