Reducing the number of school gate drop offs by 30 per cent, would benefit everyone.
That's according to the Minister for the Environment.
He was responding to suggestions a reduction in the number of parents leaving children to school would reduce traffic congestion.
Minister Eamon Ryan says if more parents used public transport, where it is provided, the environment would be cleaner and traffic would be lighter:
"If you take the 30% out, it frees up the roads for everyone. Everyone knows in the summer, actually, our transport system works; in the winter, it doesn't. So it actually makes such sense in terms of... And it's also good for kids: more active, more independence. There are so many benefits".
