A new report has shown that financial savings is now one of the main reasons people are switching to electric cars.
The research published this morning shows that while 40% of people move to E.V. motoring for environmental reasons and almost as many are doing it to save money.
Kevin Dowling who is Chair of the Irish Electric Vehicle Owners Association and conducted the research with Energia, says people are worried about spiralling energy costs:
"39% of people were concerned about the cost which I think this year in particular, has been heightened. This is reasonably new technology. It's developing pretty bad, but I think we're still in the sort of like 2007 to 2010 era if you compare it to smartphones."
