As the hot weather intensifies and the UV index increases, the public are being warned of the dangers of skin cancer due to not covering up and using sunscreen.
Skin cancer is the most common type in Ireland with almost 13,000 cases diagnosed each year.
That number is expected to double by 2045.
Consultant Dermatologist at St Vincent's hospital in Dublin Dr. Aoife Lally said sunscreen should be used as part of a skin protection regime.
