Protestors at a hotel housing asylum seekers in Clare say they'll maintain their blockade "until December" if necessary.
34 asylum seekers were transferred to Magowna House Hotel in Inch on Monday.
However, some locals blocked the entrance, claiming they were not consulted about the move.
Local TD's and Senators are due to hold a video conference call with Integration Minister Roderic O'Gorman today to try to resolve the issues.
Seamie Fitzpatrick - one of those manning the barricade - says housing refugees in such a remote area is wrong.
"We had a fire here lighting last night, it will be there until December if we have to.
"We're sticking to our guns until we get proper answers as to why this happened.
"People in Dublin don't care, they'll ship them off out, not thinking of the poor craturs inside there either.
"I don't know what's going to happen, but we're going sticking to our guns anyway."
