A protest will get underway in Newbridge in County Kildare today over plans for a permanent refugee camp.
They'll gather at Lakeside Park at 1 o'clock this afternoon, unhappy over the proposal to build 30 modular homes in the town.
They say they were told the accommodation for up to 100 Ukrainian refugees would be temporary, but they've been misled by the Government.
LHD Action Group spokesperson Noirín O'Shea says they need their local amenity and won't stop taking action:
"The Freedom of Information Act proves that they are planning on building permanent homes after three years for these camps, so we're just not happy at all. We feel like the government are not taking the Irish concerns serious whatsoever. So we are going to continue to protest today and every Saturday until we get it in writing, that our Green is going to stay".
