A protest against the provision of homes for Ukrainians in Kildare, is taking place today.
A green area in a housing estate in Newbridge has been earmarked as a possible location for the thirty homes.
The LHD Action Group, which has organised the protest, says there has been no consultation from the government.
Tom McDonnell, a member of the group, outlines a range of issues with the planned homes:
"We've a lot of serious issues that's going on. Can't get a doctor - no one in Newbridge can get a doctor - no new patients can get a doctor. Schools: we went to all the schools. Schools are not taking anyone. People have to go to Celbridge, they have to go to Monasterevin, they have to go to Kildare town with their kids to school".
