Parents could be forking out as much as €3,000 every year, to send their children to summer camps during the school break.
According to an analysis by the Irish Independent, it would cost the average household €3,000 to send two teenagers to camps across the three-month break.
For parents of primary school children, who have an 8-week break, it would cost about €2,000 for two kids.
Mother of 3, Caz Mooney, runs the Irish Budgeting Instagram page and has these tips to make savings on camps:
"I usually find if you book them earlier, you can get them for a better price. So usually they will announce them in April or May and if you booked them earlier, or if you book them for multiple children, you can usually get them for a better price."
