A new online data hub is being built, so energy customers can be aware of peak times on the network and reduce their electricity use in those periods.
That's according to the Commission for Regulation of Utilities, which was before the Oireachtas Climate Committee today.
It's extending the disconnection ban for vulnerable households, meaning older people and those struggling financially will not have their power disconnected between October and March.
