The Cabinet will discuss a new plan to incentivise developers to cost-rental homes, when it meets this morning
A new €1bn housing plan is due to be unveiled by cabinet this morning.
It includes extending the grants available to people purchasing vacant homes, to now include any property built before 2007.
It will also allow buyers to purchase vacant homes with the intention of renovating and then renting out the property.
Also on the agenda is a scheme to provide up to €150,000 to developers or the Land Development Agency to build cost-rental homes.
The Health Minister Stephen Donnelly will also bring a review in to Ireland’s abortion laws to Cabinet.
It says the 3 day wait for a termination is unnecessary and states some GPs, who are conscientious objectors, are providing misleading information to women seeking an abortion.
Another 100 euro child benefit instalment in June will be mentioned, as well as the state’s clean-air strategy.
