From today, Gardaí will sport some new style, costing in the region of €15 million.
A new Garda uniform comes into operation, comprising of a new blue polo shirt, two tone Soft Shell Jacket and cargo style trousers.
However the traditional hat will remain in place.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris says around 14,000 Garda members will make the change today.
